Vadodara To Silvassa By Road

Vadodara To Silvassa By Road

Silvassa, the capital of UnionTerritory of Dadar and Nagar Haveli. Far from being a tribal region, Silvassa has now developed into an industrial hub with major industrial companies setting up their manufacturing base.

How to Reach Silvassa? Silvassa is well connected via road network with Gujarat and Maharashtra via National Highway- 848A. Silvassa to Mumbai is approximately 160 kilometers(KM). The nearest railway station is Vapi which is approximately 16 kilometers away. Being in love with road travelling, we took the option of roadtrip from Vadodara to Silvassa in our car Datsun Go plus.

Vadodara to Silvassa is approximately 265 kilometers (KM), 5 hours via car. The route is straight forward on Google- Vadodara-Bharuch-Surat-Valsad-Vapi-Silvassa. We booked the resort “Dadra Resort” on phone call while on the road, a good resort at bad location. It’s in the middle of the city so you cannot get detached with city crowd (which is a must nowadays during holidays). We left Vadodara at 7am and reached the destination (Dadra resort) by 11.30am. The weather was hot in the month of March. Dadra resort, has a good swimming pool, a separate small pool for kids (not to be left alone) and food was ok-ok.

There are not many tourist spots to visit, but whatever we visited was good and added to our lifetime memories. We went to the Tribal Cultural Museum which is around 6 kilometers (KM) from Dadra Resort. This is a major tourist attraction, especially for those, who love Art, Culture and History. An educational museum which displays historic tribal artifacts, tribal objects like various masks, hunting tools, handmade musical instruments, fishing gears, kitchen articles. The main purpose of this museum is to protect the tribal culture and at the same time educate people about this culture.

The next destination we visited was “Silvassa Vasona Lion Safari” which is about 25 kilometers (KM) from the Tribal museum via Khanvel road. The entry fee is as mentioned below:

  1. Children (3 to 12 years)- Rs. 10/-
  2. Adult- Rs. 25/-
  3. Foreign Visitors- Rs. 100/-
  4. Video Movie Charges- Rs. 100/-

Visiting hours are 9am to 5pm daily, except Mondays. The best thing about this safari park is that they do accept only digital or card payments, no cash is accepted. We took a minibus for the visit and luckily saw 2 lionesses in the park. This was a mesmerizing feeling for all of us as one of the lionesses was just a foot away from our bus.

Post safari, we checked out from the resort and pushed the accelerator for Vadodara via Daman. Finally, it was a good short getaway from Vadodara. There are more road trip stories coming, keep visiting zindagidrama.com.
